Katmerciler reaches to Ukraine,
the host of EuroBasket 2015, as its 42nd export country
The LPG-powered environmentally-friendly street sweeper especially developed by Katmerci for cold climate conditions of Ukraine will sweep the road during 2015 European Basketball Championship organised by FIBA in 2015 in Ukraine. A deputation headed by Aleksander Vilkul, the Deputy Prime Minister, have also attended the presentation meeting for the vehicle organised in scope of championship preparations.
Katmerciler, the leader and largest exporter of Turkish vehicle mounted equipment sector, signs another high prestige project and expands its export activities to a 42nd country: Ukraine. Katmerciler developed a LPG-powered environmentally-friendly street sweeper to be used during 39th European Basketball Championship (EuroBasket 2015), which is to be hosted by Ukraine in 2015.
With the collaboration of Autokraz, leading truck manufacturer of Ukraine, the equipment was mounted on Kraz truck and presented with a meeting also attended by Aleksander Vilkul, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine. Organised on 29 August 2013 in scope of “EuroBasket 2015” preparations, this meeting was held at the premises of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing in Odessa, Ukraine. The vehicle developed by Katmerciler R&D teams specifically for cold climate conditions of Ukraine won great praise from the audience.
After seeing the performance of the street sweeper Deputy Prime Minister Vilkul said, “Production of this vehicle is an important R&D work in the eve of European Championship. As the Ministry we will put our full support behind having all streets of all cities in Ukraine cleaned by these vehicles.”
Katmerciler-Kraz collaboration may expand
With its significantly low fuel consumption, high efficiency and minimum emission rate the environmentally-friendly street sweeper can be manufactured with a volume between 4 and 6 cubic metres. The vehicle with a 1500 cubic metre water tank and brushes on both sides also has a specially designed cabin interior. Equipped with ergonomic indicator panels, ergonomic seats, a steering wheel with adjustable angle and height, as well as air conditioning, the vehicle can be operated by the digital control panel in the cabin.
One of the key features of street sweeper is that it can operate in and adapt to cold climate conditions of Ukraine. The Katmerciler-Kraz co-production vehicle will be presented in various expos in Ukraine for six months.
Katmerciler and Kraz are also preparing to engage in joint studies for different equipment for the future. A committee of Kraz representatives is expected to pay a visit to Katmerciler in İzmir soon to discuss these joint studies.
